Zenless Zone Zero has two premium resources: Polychrome (for pulls) and Monochrome (premium currency that converts to Polychrome). But it also has Battery Charge (stamina) that you can refill with either currency.
New players always ask the same question: “Should I spend Polychrome on stamina refills or save for banners?”
Here’s the answer.

ToggleThe Polychrome Math
160 Polychrome = 1 pull. A full stamina refill (60 battery charge) costs 50 Polychrome. That means one pull worth of Polychrome (160) buys you 3.2 stamina refills (192 battery charge).
192 battery charge farms roughly 12-15 upgrade materials. Enough for 1-2 talent levels or 3-4 gear upgrades.
One pull gets you a 0.6% chance at an S-rank agent (character) or a 4% chance at an A-rank.
Verdict: Stamina refills give guaranteed progress. Pulls give gambling. Early game (first month), prioritize stamina to build your roster. Late game (after two full teams), prioritize pulls.
The Daily Battery Schedule
You get 240 battery charges per day (1 per 6 minutes). Here’s how to maximize it:
Morning login (8 AM): Spend 120 batteries on farming for your main DPS. Don’t cap.
Lunch login (12 PM): Spend 60 batteries on daily missions.
Evening login (6 PM): Battery almost full again. Spend 120 batteries on whatever you need. Cap at 240 just before bed.
Night login (11 PM): Spend remaining battery. Log out with 0-20.
This schedule never hits the 240 cap (no waste) and fits around a normal work/school day.
The zzz top up Priority for New Players
If you’re going to spend money on ZZZ, here’s the order:
| Priority | Purchase | Why |
| 1 | Monthly pass (300 Monochrome + 90 Polychrome/day) | Best value |
| 2 | Battle pass (weapons + resources) | Great for early game |
| 3 | First-time top-up bonus (double Polychrome) | One-time value |
| 4 | Direct Polychrome | Only if desperate for banner |
The monthly pass gives 2,700 Polychrome over 30 days for $5. Direct **zenless zone zero top up** gives about 1,000 Polychrome for $10. The monthly pass is 5x more efficient.
The Battery Refill Rule
Only refill battery with zzz polychrome in two scenarios:
Scenario 1: Double drop event is active. You get twice the rewards per battery. Refilling during events is efficient.
Scenario 2: You’re 20-30 batteries short of a major upgrade (level 40 ascension, talent level 6) and the next story mission requires that power spike.
Never refill the battery just to farm more trash gear. Never refill the battery on a Tuesday when you’re bored. Have a goal before you spend.

The 50/50 Rule
Here’s a simple rule for Polychrome spending: 50% of your Polychrome goes to the current limited banner. 50% goes to a savings account for the next banner you actually want.
Never go all-in on a banner unless you have enough to reach pity (90 pulls = 14,400 Polychrome). Going 60 pulls deep and running out is worse than not pulling at all. Those 60 pulls are now wasted on a banner you didn’t finish. Save until you can commit fully.
